About Lisa
It has been a privilege to serve the students, families, and educators of Newport-Mesa Unified School District over the past four years. I respectfully ask for your vote so we can continue building on our success and keep Newport-Mesa schools among the very best in California.
As your Trustee, I have focused on academic excellence, safe schools, responsible fiscal stewardship, and expanding opportunities for every student. I have worked to ensure every child has the opportunity to succeed while protecting the high standards our community expects. Every decision I make is guided by one simple question: What is best for our students
As a 34-year Corona del Mar resident, my husband and I raised our three children in Newport-Mesa schools. Before joining the Board, I spent more than 15 years serving our schools as a PTA President, parent leader, fundraiser, and advocate for students. I also taught for 10 years and was honored as Teacher of the Year.
I firmly believe parents have the primary right and responsibility to guide their children’s education. As your Trustee, I have spent the past four years visiting classrooms, attending school events, and listening to parents, teachers, principals, students, and community members. Those conversations continue to shape every decision I make because I believe the best decisions begin with listening and always keep students at the center.
Key accomplishments include:
- Strengthened campus safety and expanded School Resource Officer coverage.
- Expanded opportunities for advanced learners.
- Increased support and educational opportunities for students with special needs and disabilities.
- Secured a $15 million safety modernization at Andersen Elementary without asking taxpayers to approve a new bond.
- Adopted common-sense cell phone and e-bike policies that improve student safety, support student well-being, and reduce distractions in our schools.
I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from UC Santa Barbara, a Teaching Credential and Master’s Degree in Education from UCLA, and a Master’s Degree in School Administration.
This is not a stepping stone to higher office. My commitment is to you, our students, and the future of Newport-Mesa schools. I care deeply about this community and will continue working tirelessly to keep Newport-Mesa schools top notch. I would be honored to earn your support.
