District 4: Lisa Pearson
Lisa Pearson is an impressive candidate for District 4. She has lived in the district for over 30 years and has spent over 15 years as an active parent leader.
Lisa’s life has always been about educational excellence – here parents were both public school teachers, she too became a public school teacher and holds both a Master’s in Education and a Masters in Administration. She spent her formative years at the dinner table with her family discussing education.
When her children were at Lincoln Elementary School and Corona del Mar Middle and High School Lisa volunteered and was elected to almost every PTA Board position including PTA president at these schools. She also was on both School Site Councils, Corona del Mar Middle School Planning Committee and on the selection committees for the Principals at both Corona del Mar and Newport Harbor High Schools.
Lisa has always been a supporter of high academic standards in our classrooms and innovative learning programs that are tailored to meet the needs of individual students.
She believes all our schools must be safe and secure learning environments, and that student’s mental health and wellbeing is essential for students to flourish in our community of high standards and high expectations.
Lisa will insist on budget transparency to ensure dollars are spent in the classroom.
And finally Lisa is committed to improve communications with parents, not over social media, but in face to face meetings.
